All Is Well

This past weekend we had was is known in the LDS vernacular as Branch Conference. This basically means that any and all Mormons in Turkey were invited to meet at the Adana Hilton on Saturday night for an adults only session and on Sunday morning with the whole fam. There were actually three Turkish Mormons who came. Also the Presiding Elder in Turkey and his wife came down from Istanbul. Also the 2nd counselor in the East Europe Mission and his wife came from Moscow. Everyone else who was there were the branch regulars.
The Hilton Hotel was very nice, my only complaint was the smoking in the lobby. Here in Turkey it is like living in the 1940's or something when it comes to smoking. EVERYBODY here smokes. They smoke inside and it is very stinky. It was definitely the first time we have ever come home from church smelling like cigarette smoke.( Mormons aren't allowed to smoke, FYI.)
The meetings were very good and I am glad we got to go. One of the highlights for me was listening to a member of the Quorum of the Seventy speaking about praying quietly in our hearts while right outside you could the call to prayer from the nearby mosque. It was very surreal.
This is the Hilton.

Here we standing in front of a great view of the old Roman Road. It is said to be the oldest bridge in the world still in use. Pretty gnarly.
